서울예술대학에서 사진을 공부한 후 독일 뒤셀도르프쿤스트 아카데미에서 마이스터슐러(토마스 루프), 아카데미브리프 과정을 마쳤다. 공간이라는 키워드를 토대로 다양한 연작 작업을 하고 있다. Out of in, aando fineart(베를린), p, Perigee Gallery(서울), b, Gallery 2(서울) 등 20여회의  개인전을 개최하였다. 또한 삼성 미술관 리움, 플라토, 백남준 아트센터 등 다수의 공간에서 개최된 그룹전에 참여하였다. 독일 산업은행(독일), 삼성 미술관 리움(서울), UBS 은행 아트 컬렉션(스위스), 서울시립미술관(서울), 국립현대미술관(서울) 등 다수의 기관에 작품이 소장되었다. 현재 서울예술대학교 디자인학부 사진전공 교수로 재직 중이다.

Graduated from Seoul Institute of the Arts (Department of Photography) and Kunstakademie Dusseldorf in Germany. Meisterschuler by Thomas Ruff. He has had solo exhibitions at a variety of venues including Out of in, aando fineart (Berlin), p, Perigee Gallery(Seoul), b, Gallery 2(Seoul). He also participated in numerous group exhibitions hosted in various institutions including Leeum Samsung Museum of Art, PLATEAU, Nam June Paik Art Center. His works have been collected at IKB Deutsche Industriebank (Germany), Leeum Samsung Museum of Art(Korea), UBS (Swiss), Seoul Museum of Art and National Museum of Modern and Contemporary Art (Korea). He is currently a professor of photography at Seoul Institute of the Arts.
