김순임은 각 지역의 자연과 그로 인한 사람의 이야기에 관심이 있다. Weaver (직조자)로서 공간과 공간, 공간과 사람, 자연과 자연으로서의 사람을 관찰하고 연결하고 시각화 하여,  발견된 이야기들을 지역 특유의 자연 오브제 및 공간과 엮어 설치, 조각, 영상, 사진, 퍼포먼스, 드로잉 등의 다양한 방식으로의 표현을 실험하고 있다.  이화여대에서 학사와 석사를 조소전공으로 수학했으며, 다양한 표현방식으로 아시아와 유럽, 미국 대륙까지 다양한 국가에서 중요한 기획전과 비엔날레에 출품해 자신만의 표현방식을 선보인 바 있다. 석사와 학사를 이화여자대학교에서 조소전공으로 졸업하였고, 23회의 개인전과 200여회의 그룹전을 통해 작업을 발표하였다. 최근 한국사립미술관 협회의 2017 Korea Artist Project에 선정되었고, 2009-2016년 까지 이화여자대학교에서 소프트스컬프쳐, 조형, 소조, 드로잉을 강의하였다. 최근 개인전 부산 홍티아트센터에서 <바다풍경>, 일본 규슈예문관에서 <바다무지개>전을 통해 지난 2년간의 해양플라스틱 문제에 대한 자신의 생각을 발표하였다. 현재 인천에 살고 홍티아트센터에 입주작가로 있다.

Soonim is a nature player and visual artist who interpret people and regions that she encounters in her life through subjective methods. Sculpture, installation, painting, performance, video recording, and site-specific art are applied to her works. Kim Soonim(b. 1975, Punggi, Sobaek Mountain aria, South Korea) received an MFA(2007) and BFA(2002) in Sculpture from Ewha Woman’s University in Seoul. She exhibited her work in many various country and citys of Asia, Europe, Africa and America by her own style from 23 times solo shows and about 200 Group exhibitions since 2002. She has been select 2017 KAP_Korea Artist Project by Korean Art Museums and had grant from Arts Council of Korea at 2018. she also has been lectured Soft Sculpture, Form &Space, Drawing, and Casting at Ewha Woman's Unibersity(2009-2016)  and etc. Recently, She had solo show <Sea-scape> in Hongti Art Center of Busan and <Sea Rainbow> in Kyushu Geibunkan in Kyushu Japan about Ocean Plastic issu that she study for last 2 years. Currently, she lives in Incheon Korea and work in Hongti Art Center in Busan as 2020 residency artist.
